Amnesty International has joined the fight against maternal mortality in Sierra Leone. The organization has collaborated with Nigerian actress Omotola Ekeinde and four Sierra Leonean musicians to release a music video called ‘Bellé Woman, dae suffer’ (Pregnant Women Are Suffering). The song tells the story of the suffering of pregnant women in Sierra Leone and explains some of the issues surrounding the high levels of maternal mortality in the country. The musicians call on governments and NGOs to take a stand against maternal mortality in Sierra Leone.
